Description
In contemporary Higher Education, student drop-out represents a multifaceted challenge that requires an integrated response. Moving from this concept, this International Staff Training Week is aimed at exploring how rigorous data collection and analysis inform institutional strategies to foster student wellbeing while ensuring persistence and long-term academic success. The initiative provides a space for mutual learning and the exchange of data-driven practices, focusing on the implementation and effectiveness-evaluation of personalized, student-centered support services.
Key topics will include:
- Scientific framework and theoretical perspectives on student drop-out;
- Data analysis and monitoring tools for drop-out prevention and reduction;
- Overview of institutional actions and support services to address student drop-out;
- Impact evaluation of strategies and measures and future strategic developments.
Prequisites
The programme is designed for Technical and Administrative Staff:
- Involved in analytical, technical and organisational functions, including the management and use of information systems, data analysis and reporting;
- Working in student-facing services such as academic administration, orientation, onboarding, tutoring and broader student support services.
You should consider applying if you:
- Are eager to acquire new knowledge and skills to analyze and prevent student drop-out, and motivated to apply this learning in your daily work;
- Recognize the strategic value of bridging a scientific approach with the design of relevant, sensitive student-centered support services;

Learning opportunity structure
This initiative will take place in Milan from 12 to 15 October 2026 and combines plenary sessions, working groups, team-building sessions, guided tours, and spaces for discussions and mutual learning.
Activities will start on Monday 12 in the morning and end on Thursday 15 at noon.

Quality assurance
The two-level mutual trust-based quality assurance scheme has been adopted:
- at the university level: Politecnico di Milano has applied its internal quality assurance procedures and structures to the proposal of An International Focus on Student Drop-out: data analysis, tools and support services - International Staff Training Week @Polimi it submitted to ENHANCE and to its implementation - the related learning activities,
- at the Alliance level: the body composed of Education Officers has made decisions regarding the inclusion of An International Focus on Student Drop-out: data analysis, tools and support services - International Staff Training Week @Polimi proposed by Politecnico di Milano to the Innovative Learning Campus part of the joint ENHANCE educational offer, based on the compliance with the formal requirements and ENHANCE goals.

Interested applicants will be asked to provide a short description of their professional role, daily activities and motivation.
There is no limitations in terms of places available per university.
