Description
The following application allows determining the resistant capacity of open and closed thin-wall sections (made of different materials) subjected to axial, biaxial bending, bimoment, Shear, Saint Venant torsion (closed) and warping torsion.
Expected learning outcomes
The objective is to determine the stresses and resistance capacity of open and closed thin-walled sections (made of different materials).
Learning opportunity structure
The geometry of the section, the types of materials and the combination of axial, biaxial bending, bimoment, shear, Saint Venant torsion (closed) and warping torsion are defined, Class 3 elastic stresses and plastification factor Class 1 and 2 sections are determined. The axial-biaxial bending bimoment interaction diagram is shown if desired. And the properties of the section are determined.

Quality assurance
The two-level mutual trust-based quality assurance scheme has been adopted:
- at the university level: Universitat Politècnica de València has applied its internal quality assurance procedures and structures to the proposal of Thin wall section materials it submitted to ENHANCE and to its implementation - the related learning activities,
- at the Alliance level: the body composed of Education Officers has made decisions regarding the inclusion of Thin wall section materials proposed by Universitat Politècnica de València to the Innovative Learning Campus part of the joint ENHANCE educational offer, based on the compliance with the formal requirements and ENHANCE goals.
