Description
We introduce a new low-threshold training that can be visited by anyone just during a lunch break. It takes only 60 minutes to attend. By offering anti-bias lunch breaks, we want to increase awareness about this topic in our alliance. We all have biases. There is nothing wrong with it. Unconscious bias affects everyone. It is important to become aware of own biases. Unconscious bias might lead to discrimination and inequality in some cases when it is not actively managed. This short training will give you the tools that you need. We offer several dates. You can select the date that you prefer below.
The 60 minutes training focus on following topics with practical exercises.
> Implicit bias
> Microagressions
> Intersectionality
> 3-step approach how to adress this all
> Participants receive practical examples and exercises. The ENHANCE Ombudsperson facilitates selft-reflection and group discussion during the session.
ENHANCE invites everyone in ENHANCE to join. The meetings will take place on Zoom (the link will be shared before the event). On request, you can receive a "ENHANCE Certificate of Participation".
In the registration form, you can choose one of the dates that suits you best.
Expected learning outcomes
Knowledge and awareness about implicit-bias including practical tools
Quality assurance
The two-level mutual trust-based quality assurance scheme has been adopted:
- at the university level: RWTH Aachen has applied its internal quality assurance procedures and structures to the proposal of Anti-Bias Lunch Breaks (Several dates) it submitted to ENHANCE and to its implementation - the related learning activities,
- at the Alliance level: the body composed of Education Officers has made decisions regarding the inclusion of Anti-Bias Lunch Breaks (Several dates) proposed by RWTH Aachen to the Innovative Learning Campus part of the joint ENHANCE educational offer, based on the compliance with the formal requirements and ENHANCE goals.
